The Vision: The American Crossroad
I kept seeing a particular crossroads from a popular movie that I could not get out of my mind. Over and over, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “The American Crossroad.”
At first, I searched for what is commonly considered the American crossroads. I found a location in the Upper Midwest, but I sensed strongly that this was not the place the Lord was highlighting. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Look up where this crossroads is located.”
That search led me to a specific place between Mobeetie (formerly Sweetwater), Texas, and Canadian, Texas—a crossroads situated between two river streams: Sweetwater Creek and the Canadian River. This location felt deeply significant, both naturally and spiritually.
Crossroads: A Call to Direction and Decision
A crossroads represents a moment of decision.
Will we go forward—down the narrow path that is often unpopular?
Will we turn left or right, following the agendas of man?
Or will we go back to Egypt—the land we once desperately wanted freedom from, yet feel tempted to return to?
We are standing at a pivotal crossroads as the global Church, particularly the Body of Christ located in America. The Lord is awakening a portion of His Bride that has been lying in a lethargic slumber—spiritually numb, with neuropathic limbs—unable to move as intended.
Scripture Foundation
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”--- Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
Generations: The Cowboy Shirt (1990s)
The cowboy shirt represents a past generation—1990s Millennials—who are crying out for more:
More authentic demonstrations of the Holy Spirit
More vulnerable, surrendered leadership
More authentic worship and uncompromised truth
This generation is also looking forward—bridging the gap between generations. It reflects a restoration of family order:
Fathers fathering sons
Mothers mothering daughters
A generational healing and handoff is taking place.
“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” -- Psalm 145:4 (NIV)
The Cowboy Hat: Covering and Protection
The cowboy hat represents protection from harsh elements. It is designed to endure all four seasons. It is not for show, but for function.
Many will “wear hats” to display position or ability. But true anointing reveals heart posture, not performance. True leadership provides covering—not self-promotion.
Read Psalm 91
“Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm…” -- Isaiah 32:1–8 (NIV)
This speaks of righteous leaders who bring protection, clarity, justice, and refreshment in barren places.
The Cowboy Rope (Lariat): Reinforcements
The rope represents the pulling in of reinforcements—drawing people back into alignment, purpose, and community. It is a tool of recovery, connection, and gathering.
The Mountains: The Seven Spheres of Society
The mountains represent the seven spheres of influence:
Family
Religion
Education
Government
Media
Arts & Entertainment
Business
The Lord is calling His people to stand rightly positioned within these spheres—carrying His authority, wisdom, and presence.
How Do We Wield His Promises?
By remaining attentive to the Holy Spirit
By trusting His plans above our own
By yielding in the tension of transition
By choosing His way at the crossroads
His ways are higher than ours. His provision is sure. He does not leave His children empty-handed.
Prayer
Lord, I pray that in this season of transition—amid tension in our homes, families, jobs, ministries, this nation, and the nations—that we choose to serve You first in all things.
I decree and declare that we will not fall prey to distraction, but that discernment will increase in this hour.
I decree and declare that we will awaken from spiritual slumber and respond to the beloved relationship that Jesus is beckoning us into.
I decree and declare that in the Midwest and the Texas Panhandle, revival will shake individuals to their very core. Orphans will no longer be orphans, but will walk fully in their identity as sons and daughters—healed, restored, and set free from every form of bondage.
I pray for every church, ministry, apostolic hub, and missions base in the Midwest to receive increased clarity, wisdom, zeal, and a fresh fire of the Holy Spirit in this hour.
I pray this in Jesus’ Name—
The Name above every other name.
The Name that heals, saves, and delivers.
The Name that breaks every yoke and every chain.
The Name that sets the captives free.
Amen. So be it.
